š Pet Rat Care Guide
Welcome to the world of pet rats! Rats are intelligent, social, and affectionate animals that make amazing companions. Follow this guide to help your new pets thrive.
Housing

Minimum cage size for two rats: approximately 24" Ć 24" Ć 36" (larger is always better).
Use safe bedding such as pelleted kiln-dried pine, corn or fleece.
Avoid untreated cedar and pine bedding, as the oils can cause respiratory issues.
Avoid bedding with added scents or high amounts of dust.
Provide hiding places, hammocks, tunnels, and enrichment toys.
